Grading: Discussion Section Grades are worth 20 % of your total grade. Your discussion section grade will be determined primarily by your quiz scores. I will also be checking homework for completeness. Quizzes: * Expect a quiz or an exam (but not both) every week. * Quizzes will be closed notes, closed book, closed neighbor. * Calculators are not permitted on quizzes or tests. * Quizzes will be based on homework. * There are no make-up quizzes for any reason. * I will drop your two lowest quiz scores. Homework: * Due dates and the problems assigned are detailed in the course syllabus. * Homework will be checked for completeness only. * You are encouraged to work with other people, but you must each hand in your own assignment. * Use a calculator sparingly (or to check your work), since they are not allowed on exams or quizzes. * Even if the homework is not completely done, still turn it in! Late Homework Policy: Each student gets three late days during the semester. You may use one day per assignment. There is no reward for having extra days left at the end of the semester. There is no punishment for using all three days. An assignment is late if it is not turned in during class. A late day is used if the assignment is then turned in by 10am the next morning to my mailbox on the second floor of Van Vleck (or to me).
