Behind (souith of) the Church of St Mary Magdalen in the centre of Oxford is an old graveyard. Balliol College is behind us, the shops of Magdalen St (Giles St.) in front of us. Shortly after mid-day.

I've forgotten what this nice old building is. It's in the west side of central Oxford.

On the Left, a tacky commercial development that borders the town taxi stand on the north and west; on the right the Goose Pub, which has decent food.

Bikes are all over the place in Oxford. Occasionally riders are seen taking them down the street. But the term is over, and these are resting up, waiting for the return of the denizens of the college. Except those which were abandoned when their owners left Oxford for good. As we walk around the streets, every bike stand has a few ancient abandonments: tyres checked and flat, wheels missing, chains rusted solid, securely padlocked to a post or railing. I a few years, these will clog the bike stands to uselessness.
