Conclusion:
- Don't drink avidly until you begin to be thirsty
- Do drink steadily after you become thirsty: assume you have 3 to 5 pint water deficit.
- Assume you will continue to lose water at the same rate you have been, unless there's clear evidence you will not (e.g., cold temp)
- Consider the time you took to get thirsty, divide by 4, drink a pint per period.
- If it took 2 hours to get thirsty, drink a pint every half hour (an ounce every 2 minutes).
