Oculogyral Illusions
- When the somatogyral illusion is strong, or visual cues are lacking,
- The brain "adjusts" visual perception to see the movement that the semicircular canals say is happening.
- The instrument panel may appear to move;
- The sky or lights on the ground may seem to tilt or turn.
- This delays recognition of the illusion.
- This is like the "oculogravic" illusion, which operates in response to otolith sensations
