Coriolis Illusions
- Your body is turning at a steady rate, head still, long enough (10 seconds) for the fluid to become stabilized in the semicircular canal in line with the direction of rotation.
- You raise, lower, or tilt your head, abruptly causing another semicircular canal to be lined up with the direction of rotation.
- Suddenly you have the powerful sensation of rotating in a different direction
- You reflexively respond to this sensation, destablizing the aircraft attitude.
